Mr Nathan James

On November 16th 2007, Nathan was wrapped up in the Stonewall’s Drag king pagaent. Guess what, she won!

She is a 32 year old lesbian. Her drag Name is Nathan James. Originally from NY, transplanted to WV by chance. She said ”Thinking back, I was about 14 when I first thought about doing drag. I remember clearly driving down the road with my mother and catching a glimpse of myself in the side mirror, I thought “I wonder what I would look like with a beard”.

She has only been doing drag for about 6 months now. She was inspired to get up on that stage by her drag Ma’ma, Ms. Selena Faith. She has done mostly open stage at the Stonewall club. she recently did a fundraiser for Ms. Olivia Knowles. And just this past Friday (11/16/07) She entered and won the Stonewall’s King of West Virginia Pagaent.  She has a page on Myspace specifically for her drag persona Mr. Nathan James.

 You can see it at www.myspace.com/dragsuperstar. She will be doing more open stage at the Stonewall, and hopefully will start booking in other local clubs. I hope that my drag career will inspire other drag kings to hit the stage. We don’t have enough of a presence here in WV and she would like to help change that.
