The Terry Awards and Ms West Virginia Queer News Pageant (Witthout a doubt, one of the biggest events of the year)
The 2008 Terry Awards kicked off with a major bang and without one single flaw. Friday night, March 20th, 2009 will go down in history as the fourth Annual celebration. This year's theme was "Leather and Lace" and wow!, what a show the entertainers had in store for you!
The night began with a special thanks announcement from Captainahab and also a little introduction telling those who have never been to the awards, exactly what they are. (Special thanks was giving to all the entertainers who performed over friday and saturday night along with generous donating people like Jeffrey Stump, Bryce Mc Conaughey, Roi Stephens, Leeza Zoellers, Jim Lawson and his partner Darren, Chuck from Pitts, Matt Fitch, Bradley Stewart and all the patrons who tipped at the two fundraisers earlier this year. We would also like to thank Mimi and Vince for hosting the event and also the wonerful staff at Woodstarr.
. I would also like to give a special thanks to Robin Hearts. James Yoast and Montaz, this entertainer has the makings of a true diva. She exerts nothing but class and true elegance once she hits the stage. Her entertainment for the evening was flawless, not to mention her skill as a hostess. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and has definitely out did herself as the first lady of West Virginia Queer News and now the current reigning Ms Vice Versa. Thank you Robin !

The first to hit the stage was one of the contestants competing on Saturday night for the title of Ms WVQN, Morgan La Faye. Her outfit was stunning and boy, did she bring to life, the leather seductress that stole the stage.
Then Captain and Lady Justice got down to visit with the nominees and winners of the contest. Here is the take on the ones they did until the next fabulous number we had in store for you. He is an activist and a continued leader in the community around us. He works very closely with the education of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell and why it should be changed. Check out his site to see what kind of work he does. Http://integrityinservice.org Congratulations to him and thanks for your support. We also had a 50/50 drawing and my friend Dustin raised well over 200 dollars on that. Way to hustle and thanks so much. The most significatn part of the evening came from a straight couple who came to Woodstarr to support their child for becoming a great success in the female impersonatiing world. October La Croix, not only siginifies youth and talent of an upcoming star in the state but she acquires the poise and class to realize that through support from her family she can achieve anything! She and her family make me proud as an individual, even as uncomfortable as they felt. They stuck it out and enjoyed themselves. I believe in the end, they felt the love in the air and came to realize these functions are more a function of support more than anything. I thank you all for coming to the Terry Awards and you make me proud to call friend. Ms West Virginia Queer News Pageant
